Welcome
Welcome to the First Church website. If you are new to our church, or just getting
to know us through this website, we are delighted to help you learn about
us.
We are a large, extended family of people seeking to build a community of people who love Jesus
passionately and serve others joyfully. So if you’re brand new to the Christian Faith – perhaps just trying to
figure out what it’s all about – or if you’ve been a follower of Christ for
some time, let us introduce you to our family, our ministries, and our values.
In worship, disciple making, children’s and youth programs,
outreach and missions, and in just having fun together, we would like to
provide you with a church home, a place to come and worship, to belong, to serve. Please feel free to ask any of us to help you
learn more about our programs and us.
I’m New
We want you to feel welcome and comfortable during your
visit on a Sunday, so we have attempted to answer a few common questions. Here’s what you can expect on Sundays.
When should I arrive?
Our services are on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. and
6:00 p.m. We invite you to arrive a
little early to be greeted by some of our members and have the opportunity to
visit.
What are my options for childcare?
Children
ages 0-3 years old are welcome in our infant or toddler nurseries. Your little ones will be well taken care of
by our amazing staff of nursery volunteers. Children ages 3-2nd grade are invited to sit with you for a
while in the worship service and then are invited to attend Children’s
Worship. These children will be
dismissed about 15-20 minutes after the service begins. Children’s Worship is optional if you would
like your children to stay in the service with your family.
What happens on Sunday?
Our
worship services differ slightly each Sunday, but they always contain key
elements - Singing, prayer, scripture reading, time of confession, and the
preaching of the Word.
